Pictured are Fulbright Scholars from Indonesia, Famelia Cut and Azharudding Priyotomo, two of the dozen Data Science students who volunteered their time in return for admission to the BOSTON DATAFESTIVAL.

The conference was held at the N.E.R.D. Center in Cambridge, MA, September 18 - 23, 2015.

An excerpt from Famelia, in writing about her experience: "I found it such a great and valuable event for me as it offered me opportunities to open my mind to learn more about the essence of Data Science and wide roles Data Scientists can play as professionals, to address the world’s needs through big data. I participated in many interesting talks by expert speakers (CEO, Chief Data Scientists, academics, researchers) from great companies/universities such as Google, Microsoft, MIT, Harvard University, Columbia University, MathWorks, Dow Jones, Cloudera, Hopper, Driven Data, MaxPoint, and many more.

I found many great ideas and concepts in Data Science, which was beyond what I expected.

The event helped me start to build good networking with new people from various organizations with the same interests. This made me feel that I am really studying in the right school."

Professor Fatemeh Emdad accompanied the students on many trips to Cambridge for the event.
