• For the sixth time, WPI will hold a silent auction to benefit the United Way Campaign on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Campus Center Hagglund Room, and your creative donations are needed!

According to Beth Mulvey, human resources generalist/HRIS analyst, the last time this auction was held (in 2011 —it was on haitus in 2012), the auction raised $2,681.

“We’ve had 80-100 items in past years, between gift cards and crafts,” says Liz Tomaszewski, facilities systems manager/sustainability coordinator, and who, along with Mulvey, is part of the United Way Planning Committee on campus.

Crafters, artists, entrepreneurs, and more are wanted:

  • • Knitters, beaders, painters, photographers, carvers – please consider creating something special for this important fundraiser.
  • • Not that creative? Consider donating an unused gift or purchasing a gift card or other item that can be auctioned off.
  • • Know a business owner who might be willing to offer a product or service? Ask them for a donation. (A letter can be provided if needed).

No matter what you can donate, be sure to visit the auction and bid on goods and services!

All donations will be on display before the event in the Bartlett Center.

Please direct your items to Paulette Tatro in the Bartlett Center.  Contact Liz Tomaszewski (ltomasz@wpi.edu)  or Peg Caisse (macaisse@wpi.edu) with questions or donations.
