Online Notes as an Alternative to Class Attendance?

In the May 2005 issue of Computers & Education, Dr. Mark Grabe makes the case that posting class notes online ahead of time results in better exam scores amongst users of the notes, and that although some students chose to use the notes instead of attending class every day, no significant difference was perceived in subsequent student performance.
