Pubcookie Web Login Problems

WPI has implemented pubcookie from www.pubcookie.org. We have a web page which gives the reasons for our choosing to use pubcookie.

Pubcookie might fail to work for you, though. These are some reasons it might fail:

• Your browser must be configured to accept cookies.
• Login failed. Please re-enter.
  If the login fails, it could be that the login and password do not work. Your ID may be the same on several systems, but the password may differ. The password needed here is to your CCC UNIX login, not a windows or admin password.
• My roommate can access my files!
  The cookie is stored in the browser. Anyone using the browser will have access to your stuff. Once you have authenticated to pubcookie, be sure to lock your screen if you get up, or else exit the browser. If you leave the browser available, your files are in danger.
• Unsupported browsers.
  Explorer and Navigator work with pubcookie. Most browsers should. WebTV, for example, is one that does not work.
