Moody Nets Game-Winner in Women's Soccer Win at Salve
Newport, RI --- Jocelyn Moody tallied the only goal of the game to help lift visiting WPI to a 1-0 victory over Salve Regina in non-conference women's soccer action on Friday afternoon. The contest was the season opener for both squads. Moody's goal, the 14th of standout career, came on an assist from fellow senior co-captain Meg Pasquali following a corner kick.

Men's Soccer Takes Worcester City Classic Opener
Worcester, MA --- Evan Demers-Peel and Wade Mitchell-Evans each notched first half goals to help WPI defeat Anna Maria 2-1 in the opening round of the Worcester City Tournament on Friday at Clark's Granger Field. WPI improves to 1-0 with the win and will play Worcester State on Sunday at noon.

WPI Volleyball Recognized by AVCA for Academic Excellence
Lexington, KY --- The WPI Volleyball team has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for academic excellence during the 2007 season. The team posted a WPI best 3.55 GPA during this past academic year. The AVCA honored a record 353 teams in 2007-2008, including an all-time of 62 in NCAA Division III.

WPI Track and Field Programs Earn Academic Accolades
New Orleans, LA --- The WPI Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field teams have earned 2008 NCAA Division III USTFCCCA honors as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association. The women’s team posted an impressive 3.44 grade point average which was tied for 16th while the men’s cumulative average was 3.30 and eighth overall nationally.
