On Saturday, February 3, Phi Kappa Theta hosted its third annual Alumni Day. The purpose of the day was to find ways to improve the Fraternity with the help of KAPs of the past. Alumni reaching from as far back as the class of 1937 came to assist and offer their experience in the development of Phi Kappa Theta.
The day started out with a luncheon served at the Higgins House at WPI where the current brothers got a chance to meet and chat with their predecessors. Soon thereafter, workshops were held to brainstorm and realize issues such as work on the houses, relations with the school, and involvement on campus.
The Alumni were able to offer many key ideas to improve the fraternity and to bring back many of its great traditions. Upon completion of the meetings, everyone was invited back to the house at 26 Institute Drive for a cordial reception. There the alumni had a chance to see the work we have and propose to do on the houses, as well as socialize with many past friends. The get-together then processed to the Castle Restaurant for an elegant dinner. There, an award was given to Fr. Peter Scanlon for his 45 years of dedicated service to WPI and Phi Kappa Theta. The day proved to be a very interesting and informative day the provided a lot of insight to the future of Phi Kappa Theta.
