Title	Restructuring the Electrical Industry

Abstract The primary focus of this report is to evaluate the restructuring of the electric utility industry here in Massachusetts. Specifically, we wish to know if, on the whole, Massachusetts electric consumers have benefited from the restructuring. By way of answering this question, we have researched the effect restructuring has had on the affordability of electricity, on the readiness of the infrastructure and on the potential for future growth. In addition, we also researched what went wrong in California in 2001, with the intent of predicting the likelihood of a similar crisis occurring in Massachusetts.
