Deep Energy Retrofit Open House
On Saturday, April 6th, the Deep Energy Retrofit 1890 three-family home at 29 Crompton Street was showcased with a presentation about National Grid Deep Energy Retrofit projects.
The building was gutted, and the exterior stripped. The enclosure was super-insulated with an exterior insulation wall and roof; two layers of reclaimed polyisocyanurate rigid foam built up the exterior of the roof, six inches of closed cell foam was placed on the inside of the roof slopes, three inches of reclaimed polyisocyanurate and one inch of new foil-faced polyisocyanurate were placed on the exterior walls. The interior walls received more than three inches of closed cell foam to prevent air infiltration and heat recovery ventilators with ERV cores were installed to lower energy consumption.
The entire project was completed in September of 2012.
