Why did you choose WPI for your PhD?
I really liked that WPI’s biomedical engineering program not only specialized in tissue engineering, but also had a selection of bioengineering labs that focused on medical instrumentation and biosignal processing. WPI’s IGERT program also incorporates innovative business classes that prepare students for the industry beyond graduate school. Research at WPI is done in a collaborative setting with best professors in their field; therefore I felt I would get the most out of my experience here.
What area(s) of research are you currently exploring?
Currently, I’m looking at developing a “smart watch” that can record surface ECG signals to detect signs of atrial fibrillation.
In which professors laboratory are you currently working?
Professor Chon (Fall) and Professor Gaudette (Spring)
