RAD for Women

The Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) System for women is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques.  The RAD System is a comprehensive course for women which begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, and progresses to the basics of hands-on defense training.  The course offers simple and effective techniques that empower women and help them quickly respond to a spontaneous violent attack.  Certified RAD instructors teach the course in a supportive, non-threatening environment.  The course includes an optional simulation exercise, which allows women to practice the techniques they have learned in a safe but realistic scenario.

WPI currently offers a RAD for Women course for PE credit during all four terms.  If you are interested in registering for the course, please consult the Registrar's Office webpage.  For specific questions about the course, please contact Officers Chad Gaylord and Christopher Gilmore at csgaylord@wpi.edu and cjgilmore@wpi.edu or 508-831-5433.
