Public Relations

Our public relations experts collaborate with campus partners, media representatives, and external organizations to connect our students, faculty, and staff (and their expertise, experiences, and stories) with media, influencers, and officials around the world. Whether it’s working in advance of media interviews to help community members best share their news, or directly sharing the news and stories that make WPI so distinct, the public relations team amplifies the university’s compelling news to a global audience and protects WPI’s reputation with effective issues management and crisis communications. This team is responsible for actions such as these:    

  • Issuing all university press releases
  • Conducting media relations and managing all media requests, inquiries, and requests to interview WPI community members (students, faculty, and staff) 
  • Providing media training, coaching, and support for media interviews 
  • Helping with message development and delivery
  • News writing and Storytelling to spotlight the work of WPI community members as well as university events and activities 
  • Supporting  Op-ed writing, Letters to the Editor, submitted articles for mainstream and trade media
  • Crisis communications and issues management
