Climatech Updates: External Relations Newsletter

External RelationsDear Partners and Friends,
Our changing climate—and how to address the challenges resulting from it—is on everyone’s minds. In Worcester and the Central Massachusetts region, we are in a unique position to make a significant positive impact on this critical issue.
On June 4, WPI President Grace Wang, senior administrators, and faculty gathered on the WPI campus with corporate partners, public officials, and leaders of other colleges and universities to participate in a forum led by Jay Ash, president and CEO of Massachusetts Competitive Partnership about how to develop our region as a talent hub and economic driver in climate tech. This is a considerable undertaking, and our immediate focus is on leveraging the city’s and region’s strengths in regeneration and recovery. Everyone left the morning inspired by the potential of this collaboration and looking forward to continuing our work together.
In this newsletter, you’ll find that we’re elbow deep in climate tech research and innovation at WPI. Our faculty are advancing cutting-edge breakthroughs in regeneration and recovery, battery recycling, clean energy, and other areas related to climate technology. Our graduate and undergraduate degree programs are preparing a workforce to drive economic growth and solve problems through entrepreneurial thinking. Our project-based curriculum benefits our students and our corporate partners.
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has cited climate tech as a state priority with funding available to support innovative plans. For WPI, Worcester, and Central Massachusetts, now is the time to elevate the incredible work that’s already underway and forge new pathways to our future. Together, there’s so much we can achieve.
With best wishes,
