Minor in International & Global Studies

Minor

Value Proposition Description

If you’re eager to apply the skills you learn in the classroom to help understand and solve problems around the world, a minor in International and Global Studies is a great place to start. With coursework that spans humanities, social sciences, math, and engineering, as well as a required International and Global experience, the International and Global Studies minor ensures you’ll emerge a well-rounded student with all the tools necessary to achieve your career goals.

Curriculum

To earn a minor in International and Global Studies, you’ll be expected to complete two units of work divided into the following (see Undergraduate Catalog  for more information and detailed course selection listings):

  • International and Global core (2/3 units of courses)
  • International and Global elective (1 unit)
  • International and Global experience
  • Senior Seminar in International and Global Studies (1/3 unit)

All International and Global Studies minors are required to participate in a study abroad experience that’s equivalent in length to at least one term at WPI. The Senior Seminar can only be taken after the International and Global experience has been completed.

Application Process

We recommend that you discuss your interest with Professor Peter Hansen as early as possible before applying. Upon completion of the meeting, fill out the Minor Proposal Form.

Any WPI student is eligible for the International and Global Studies minor.
