WPI Admissions STEM Leadership Book Award

Each year the Admissions Office at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) recognizes high school juniors from around the nation who have demonstrated academic excellence and community leadership in STEM. It is our privilege to recognize the recipients of this award as high achieving young leaders who self-identify as one or more of any of the following communities: Women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIAPP+.

To this year’s recipients,

Congratulations! At WPI we strive each year to enroll a diverse freshman class of leaders with all the acumen that you exemplify. WPI students positively change the world and you have demonstrated your ability to do the same as a high school junior.

We have recognized you as a recipient of the STEM Leadership Book Award because of the following reasons:

  • You’ve modeled a preference and ability to collaborate, innovate, and problem solve.
  • You’ve embodied a commitment to leadership as an engaged member of your school and community.
  • You’ve proven your academic ability through high achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Your hard work in these areas is reason enough to celebrate, but it is our pleasure to acknowledge you with this award. As a recipient, you now join the ranks of many others who have been recognized for the positive change they’ve created in the world through the lens of STEM.

If you are a teacher or school counselor and would like to nominate a STEM leader from your school community for this award, please contact the Diversity and Outreach Initiatives team at doi@wpi.edu. Please note that nominations have closed for the 2021-2022 school year. We begin taking nominations each year in February.
