Title: Some applications of interesting mathematics to cryptography
Abstract: In the past 25 years some very interesting, originally purely theoretical, number theory and analysis has found its way into cryptography. I'll give a survey of several examples in public key cryptography that have already found their way into the mainstream, and another, related to something I might call "public key biometric authentication" that may prove to have some interesting consequences. I will assume essentially no background in cryptography.
