Title: Self-dual maps on the sphere and other compact surfaces
Abstract: How is this picture self-dual? For a planar graph G we consider three forms of self-duality, namely map self-duality, graph self-duality and matroid self-duality. We use the geometry of self-dual polyhedra together with the structure of the cycle matroid to construct all self-dual graphs. For graphs cellularly embedded on a surface other than the sphere, we consider the Delta-matroid of the corresponding map.
