As WPI Alumni, you know how our distinctive approach to education has made an impact in your life. Share your journey with us in Portland!
WPI will have a significant presence at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) flagship national conference in Portland this year (visit booth 920 if you are attending), with a record twelve papers accepted. Examples to be presented of WPI’s educational approach as the global leader in project-based STEM education include:
- Results from a survey of over 2,000 alumni on the lifelong benefits of project based learning
- A mobile app that gamifies learning of difficult mechanical engineering concepts
- The role of critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and communication as essential skills for the next generation of engineering innovators
- Culturally responsive ways to help K-5 faculty teach computational thinking
Here’s an opportunity for you to meet the faculty who deliver this transformational experience. We invite you to join Dean of Engineering John McNeill for an informal gathering to meet the WPI faculty and student authors who will be presenting at the ASEE Conference and engage them in conversation about the difference they’re making in their students’ lives.
