On Thursday, August 9, the Massachusetts Defense Technology Initiative (MassDTI) and WPI will host "Defense Workforce Project 2.0," an event designed to enhance Massachusetts' defense workforce by connecting leaders from nine of the state's colleges and universities with the skill needs of nearly 20 leading defense technology companies.

The Massachusetts Defense Technology Initiative (MassDTI) and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) will host "Defense Workforce Project 2.0," an event designed to enhance Massachusetts’ defense workforce by connecting nine of the state’s colleges and universities with the skill needs of nearly 20 leading defense technology companies.

Why

A qualified, skilled workforce is crucial to Massachusetts' strong defense industry, which generates approximately 65,000 to 80,000 jobs in the state. The Defense Workforce Project’s goal is to help employers identify colleges and universities with appropriate faculty, facilities, and curricula to support the development of skilled workers. This will be done at the conference via "Speed Dating" – a series of 10-minute-long, targeted meetings.
