Frontiers for Credit Admissions Process

Applicants to WPI’s Frontiers for Credit program will need to submit an online application, supporting documents, and a $50 non-refundable application fee by our published deadline(s). Our team will immediately begin reviewing completed files and will release all decisions at once approximately 14 calendar days after each published application deadline. Accepted students will have 14 calendar days to submit their non-refundable deposit of $1,000 to confirm their seat in the program. Those who are waitlisted can expect to hear back from our team later in the spring if any seats become available in their desired area of study.

How to Apply

Students who are interested in attending WPI's Frontiers for Credit program will need to complete an online application, pay a $50 application fee, and submit supporting documents. An application will not be reviewed until the following items are received:

  • A non-refundable $50 application fee
  • A complete application form consisting of personal identifying information, a list of activities/hobbies/interests, and answers to two of the following four short response questions:
    • Question 1: What are you excited to explore if you are accepted to a WPI Pre-College Program? Tell us about a time when you tried something new or experience something for the first time. What did you learn that you will bring with you to WPI's Pre-College Program?
    • Question 2: Drawing from the life experiences that shaped who you are today, please describe in what ways you would contribute to and gain from WPI's Pre-College Program. Please address how you would contribute to and gain from both the academic and residential aspects of the program. 
    • Question 3: Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you? 
    • Question 4: Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story as one of your short answers.
  • A copy of a transcript that includes all courses taken in high school and grades received to date. Transcripts can be self-submitted or sent directly from your school.
  • A recommendation from a teacher or high school educator who can speak to your experiences in a classroom setting. Recommendations from coaches, employers, relatives, and/or tutors will not be considered.
  • TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English proficiency test scores (international applicants).
