Major Qualifying Project (MQP)

Students at the Kyoto (Ritsu), Japan Project Center conduct their projects at Ritsumeikan University, one of Japan’s leading universities. The city of Kyoto, the "heart of Japan," boasts many important cultural sites. Kyoto is the old imperial capital of Japan and is considered to be the cultural heart of Japan. It balances is traditional focus with investment into modern technologies, and is now famous for its game and animation studios.

Please note: this program typically runs from mid July to early October.

Past Japan MQP students have built:

•A learning game to teach Japanese writing.

•An AR App to explore Kyoto through directional sound with traditional instruments.

•A 4th dimensional VR space using Vive.
