BME Professors Awarded $360K NSF Award

Image removed.Image removed.Biomedical Engineering Professor and Department Head, Kristen Billiar and Biomedical Engineering Assistant Teaching Professor, Zoë Reidinger were awarded a $360K National Science Foundation Award.  This award designates WPI as an REU Site, for studying, “Integrated Bioengineering Research, Education, and Outreach Experiences for Females and Underrepresented Minorities at WPI.”  The students will participate in authentic research experiences wherein they are guided towards independence in solving open-ended problems using a structured engineering design approach. Participants will develop professional skills and personal confidence and learn how to mentor effectively and how to make the most of being mentored.
