Massachusetts STEM Advisory Council Awards Center over $40K

Department(s):

STEM Education Center

The STEM Education Center was recently awarded $41,600 by the Massachusetts STEM Advisory Council to expand its I am STEM Lesson Library and conduct educator workshops for STEM Week 2022. The library, created by the Center with a 2020 award from the STEM Council, includes lessons for grades PreK-6. Each lesson focuses on solving problems in a storybook. All lessons are aligned with grade-level standards, can be done in the classroom or remotely, and use everyday and recyclable materials. The library is free, accessible to all educators, and was featured as a high-quality resource by the National Science Teaching Association.

In preparation for Massachusetts STEM Week 2022, the STEM Education Center runs free, 90-minute training sessions for PreK-6 educators. Family members of young children are welcome to attend as well! Participants explore the library, the problem solving process, and try a lesson with colleagues. STEM Week events in central MA will be posted on this Central MA STEM Network Ecosystem webpage.

Please share the library and the training sessions with the PreK-6 educators (or family members) in your life!
