The Office of Pre-collegiate Outreach Programs is seeking faculty, graduate students, and lab managers to host high school students this summer, virtually, for up to 260 hours.  High School students will be paid through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) High School Apprenticeship Challenge, but will report to you for tasks and schedule.

MLSC funds paid apprenticeships for high school students to gain STEM experience, technical knowledge, and professional skills for their future. Apprenticeships can be part-time or full-time and take place between June 25 - August 13, 2021. Preference at WPI is given to Worcester Public School students. All placements will be entirely virtual for summer 2021.

This is a great opportunity for you to have additional help in your lab AND an impactful experience for local high school students. Our office will provide administrative support such a running an orientation, CORI checks, gathering liability forms, collecting emergency contact information, and paying the students for MLSC.  You will be responsible for working with the student in regards to tasks and their schedule.
