Student volunteers lead hands-on STEM workshops at AVANZA Expo 2025!

STEM Education CenterWPI and Mass Academy students volunteered their time at the AVANZA STEM Expo 2025. Students brought exciting and inspirational STEM learning opportunities through hands-on workshops and interactive experiences to middle and high school students. The event was hosted by Latino Education Institute (LEI) at Worcester State University. The program’s purpose is to spark students' imagination and fuel their passion in different STEM fields.

Wilson Gramer, Computer Science, facilitated WIPPLE Music Coding workshop.

WPI students Meera Sridhar, Mechanical Engineering, Jules Vekiarides, Mechanical Engineering, and Michael Zamora, Chemical Engineering, facilitated “Removing Harmful Algae Blooms from Worcester Lakes” - an activity where students designed a solution to remove algae from simulated lakes.

Mass Academy students, along with their Instructor, Kirsten Small, led an activity where students designed and raced zip line racers, experimenting with various designs and materials.
