Abstract:   City Police of Louisville and South Florida are planning to use drones (UAVs) to aid the first responders. The drones are expected to fly through a small but complex urban environment and reach the target area within 90 seconds to capture evidence or useful information for the fid responders. My practicum project focuses on solving the navigation problem of the first responder UAVs using Deep Reinforcement Learning based motion planner. Deep Reinforcement Learning based planner will enable solving the navigation problem online without real-time map construction and is trained using real-time environment-UAV interaction.
