Abstract: Robotic Flow Drill presents an effective single-sided joining method for materials stacked together in manufacturing. However, the challenge arises when unavoidable displacements or rotations occur within the plane of the stacked materials in the manufacturing line. To address this issue, we've implemented a Pre-Hole Centering solution using 3D Vision and integrated a new software tool, serving as a teaching tool for achieving and maintaining perpendicularity to the drilling surface. This system establishes an absolute reference frame, allowing the vision system to calculate offsets from this reference. These offsets are then used to guide the robot, ensuring centering along with perpendicularity over the pre-hole before drilling. This enhancement ensures that each joint is consistently of high quality, reducing slippage and is highly repeatable , hence further improving the automobile manufacturing processes.
