Women make up only 28% of the workforce in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and men still greatly outnumber women majoring in most STEM fields in college.* Because fewer women study and work in STEM, girls and young women see limited examples of female scientists and engineers in the workforce. With fewer role models to inspire their interest in these fields, STEM fields feel less welcoming for girls and young women.
Join our Women’s Impact Network (WIN) members for a discussion about the challenges faced by women in STEM and see how WIN is addressing the situation through their support of initiatives that increase opportunities for girls and women in STEM and provide them the resources to thrive in STEM careers.
During this special event, WIN will present its 2021 Impact Grants to deserving recipients. At the end of the program, attendees will be provided with social time to share their own stories.

About the Women’s Impact Network
The goal of the Women’s Impact Network (WIN) is to build a network of women who lead and learn together, demonstrate leadership through support of critical activities at WPI, and create a positive impact for the WPI community.
WIN empowers women to come together as a collective, significant force to support WPI’s impact around the globe. A gift to WPI is an investment in the future, and the Women’s Impact Network provides unique ways for women to share imagination, inspire innovation, and lead with purpose.
WIN is a diverse group of visionary women who share a passion for education, leadership, and philanthropy. Through WIN, members will be provided the occasion to become more familiar with unique opportunities and challenges at WPI, and to assume an important role to help advance WPI’s future.
