WPI to Host Meeting of the Northeast Section of the American Society of Plant Biologists May 4-5

WHAT

The 76th Annual Meeting of the Northeast Section of the American Society of Plant Biologists, including a scientific poster session, scientific talks, and a business meeting. The meeting begins the afternoon of May 4 with a symposium titled, "Plastid Participation in Plant Development and Perception." Scheduled presentations include:



• "New insights into phototropism from experiments in microgravity and fractional gravity on the International Space Station," Richard E. Edelmann, Department of Botany, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio

• "How chloroplasts influence leaf development," Patricia Leon, Department of Molecular Biology of Plants, Instituto de Biotecnología, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Cuernavaca, Morelos, México

• "Light regulation of actin-dependent chloroplast movements in leaf cells," Roger Hangarter, Department of Biology, Indiana University, Bloomington
