What

Worcester Polytechnic Institute's (WPI) theatre group Masque and its Department of Humanities and Arts are celebrating the 25th anniversary of New Voices, the country's longest continuously running university new plays festival. This year, seven plays, all written, directed, and performed by members of the WPI community, were chosen for the festival. They are:

ATTIC, by Catherine Darensbourg; Shot in the Heart, by Sarah Pavis; 25, by Dean O’Donnell; Footsie, by Dean O’Donnell; Raccoon a la Mode, by Shannon (Haz) Harrower; Union Station, by Shannon (Haz) Harrower; and The Princess and the Body Snatchers, by Shannon (Haz) Harrower. The production will feature a scenic design, called Nirosta, by Brendan O’Brien and Smriti Shrestha.

More than 100 students are involved in this year's New Voices production. Masque, which is among WPI's oldest student organizations, is one of several theatre groups at the university. M.W. Repertory Theatre, Sunburns Theatre Company (summer theatre), and Student Comedy Productions (improvisational comedy troupes) bring the WPI community about eight productions a year.

Admission to all New Voices productions is free and open to the public.
