As an Academic Advisor in the Office of Academic Advising, I work with a caseload of undergraduate students. I strive to support my students holistically through a student-driven approach to planning their journey here at WPI. I understand a student has goals both within and outside of academia, and it is my job and passion to help students reach wherever—and whoever—they want to be.
In my undergraduate years I was a part of my university’s Honors College as well as the women’s rugby team. My academic advisors were critical both to my understanding of college pathways as well as realizing what I wanted to do in my own professional career. I interned in my alma mater’s advising offices when I was pursuing my Master’s degree; my time in these offices confirmed for me that advising is, indeed, what I want to be doing! I have seen a full lifecycle of a student from several lenses: a student, a teacher, and an advisor. Having this background helps me lead with understanding, patience, and thoughtfulness in my advising sessions because I know just how many academic and professional roads there are to travel down, and how difficult those choices can be! My advising approach revolves around empathy and the mutual understanding that I do genuinely believe in my students and their goals. I am passionate about my student’s success and doing whatever I can where I can to help them get there!
Outside of work, I’m fond of German silent film, video games, and listening to my favorite music by The Grateful Dead and Neil Young.
