Mind Matters

A Community Mental Health Fair

A-term's Signature Event is an interactive resource fair that focuses on creating a positive mental health community at WPI. Modeled after Fresh Check Day, there are fun games and activities at different booths which raise awareness about various on and off campus mental health resources, teach skills and strategies for building resilience and taking care of your mental health, and reduces the stigma surrounding mental health and help seeking.

Party Smart

Alcohol, Drugs, and Party Safety

B-term's Signature Event focuses on educating students on how to stay safe if they choose to partake in alcohol, drugs, and/or parties. There are fun activities and challenges, Party Smart kits and resources, and, of course, a free mocktail and giveaways. Students walk away knowing how to party smart and keep themselves and each other safe.

Alcohol Safety

Our Standard Drink Pour Challenge had students spin the wheel to see what kind of drink they would need to pour a standard drink of. They then had to pour (using water) a standard drink of that beverage into a red solo cup and see how accurate they were.

Drug Safety

Students try to guess which of the pills in the image is a counterfeit pill - it's harder than you think! That's why it's so important to only take medications from licensed manufactures and filled by licensed pharmacies. It's also a good idea to carry Narcan to reverse an overdose if one happens.

Party Safety

Representatives from WPI's Panhellenic Council and Interfraternity Councils helped educate students on how to stay safe at parties! The handed out free drink covers, fentanyl test strips, and drink tests. They also talked with students about the safety protocols at fraternity parties and other tips for staying safe at house parties and local bars.
