From biosolids to building materials.

Led by Audrey Philippot-Dahan and Professor Andrew Teixeira, CemCycle converts organic waste into precipitated calcium carbonate—a valuable additive for low-carbon concrete—using a proprietary hydrothermal reaction. The process sequesters CO₂, produces energy, and eliminates waste, offering cities a profitable circular solution.

Supported by MassCEC and Republic Services, CemCycle demonstrates how waste management can drive both environmental and economic returns.
