Pre-Collegiate Outreach Programs Staff

We have several full-time professional staff who work year round to plan and support summer programs and other outreach activities. During our programs, we get the entire WPI community involved, utilizing our faculty and coaches to instruct, and our undergraduate students to serve as counselors.

Associate Director of Outreach Programs

My background is in secondary education where I always loved the interaction with students in the middle and high school grades. I have been in the Enrollment Management field for over 9 years. I am passionate about my work in higher education because we are able to teach and mentor students who are looking to continue their education after high school. Here at WPI, I am constantly amazed by what the students do academically as well as socially that enables them to be the leaders of the future. Together with our students, our office helps to inspire young minds to consider fields of STEM for future studies.

Director of Pre-Collegiate Outreach Programs

I am originally from Western Massachusetts but now live in the Worcester area. I am a WPI alumna with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and recently completed a Master of Education degree at Worcester State University. While working as an engineer, I had some incredible opportunities which included working for companies that manufactured everything from space shuttle parts for NASA to carabineers for mountain climbing. After taking some time off to raise my children, I returned to WPI in 2008, which was bit like coming home for me.  I am very proud of the commitment WPI has made not only to a superb education for our current students, but also to educating younger K-12 students about the exciting opportunities in available in science and engineering. In my spare time,  I love reading, hiking (especially in the awesome New England fall) or spending time on the Cape with my family.

Counselors (Program Assistants)

We are extremely proud of our WPI students, and appreciate the opportunity to provide additional role models to our Summer Programs participants! To that end, our counselors, or Program Assistants as we call them, are hired exclusively from our own undergraduate student population. These students know the campus, and are specifically trained in Summer Programs policies and protocols. During the evening hours of overnight programs, Program Assistants live in the residence halls to supervise and be a resource for program participants. Most of our academic programs are taught by WPI faculty, staff and graduate students.

Mass Academy's Summer Programs

Several other programs hosted at WPI are run through Mass Academy, including Intellect Quest.
