This program is the ideal fit for any high school educator who loves math and wants to refine their subject knowledge and approach. Unlike other graduate certificates or programs for teachers, the Mathematics for Educators program at WPI has a strong focus on the subject matter itself.

This certificate program offers flexible graduate math courses, online or in person.

What to Expect in WPI's Graduate-Level Math Courses for Teachers

  • Build a solid foundation with advanced mathematics courses in areas such as geometry, algebra, differential equations, modeling, number theory, discrete mathematics, and statistics.
  • Explore many unique, modern applications of advanced mathematics.
  • Develop materials, based on coursework, which may be used in your own classes.
  • Practice using and integrating technologies:
    • MATLAB
    • Maple
    • Excel
    • Audacity
    • GeoGebra

Mathematics for Educators Certificate Requirements

  • This graduate certificate requires 12 credit hours of work in advanced mathematics, including required core courses and electives.
  • You may select any of the math department's offerings for your electives, resulting in a program tailored to your unique goals.
