The Destruction of Gaza: Humanities Faculty Respond

Join us for a panel discussion and community dialogue about current events and contexts surrounding the ongoing violence inflicted by and upon Israelis and Palestinians.

Prof. Jim Cocola (Literature and Film Studies) will address asymmetries of representation in recent Palestinian cinema.

Prof. Dan DiMassa (German Studies) will discuss Germany's complex relationship to genocides, past and present, and how its culture of Holocaust remembrance is shaping the nation's response to the present conflict.

Prof. John Sanbonmatsu (Philosophy) will discuss the International Criminal Court's ruling on the danger of genocide in Gaza, along with the broader ethics of political violence in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
