WPI students, it's your chance to compete for a share of $20,000 in prize money as you craft your boldest value propositions in the dynamic field of Fire Protection.

Join forces with the Fire Protection Engineering, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and the Value Creation Initiative teams, and dive into a thrilling journey that connects fire protection with a myriad of disciplines, from chemical and mechanical to environmental and business. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions and claim your spot in the winner's circle—attend the workshop sessions listed below and ignite your passion for innovation! 

Five teams will receive $1,000* each for participation. Three winning teams will receive the following prizes:

1st place $7,500

2nd place $5,000

3rd place $2,500

Students are encouraged to attend an Information Session on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 5:30-7pm in the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center, 2nd floor of the Innovation Studio to learn about the The Duane D. Pearsall Fire Protection Engineering (FPE) Value Creation Jam.  Additional aspects will be shared during  WinterSession Workshops on January 13-14, 2024.  So please stay tuned! 

Timeline for the award process is as follows:

               January 22 – Application Submissions begin

               February 2 – Application Deadline

               February 9 – Top 5 teams announced

Workshops – virtual

               Thursday, February 15 – 1 hour introductory workshop

               Thursday, February 29 – 1.5 hours forum

               Thursday, March 14 – 1.5 hours forum

               Thursday, March 28 – 1.5 hours forum

Celebration – in person

               Thursday, April 4 – Final Presentations & Award Ceremony

* Participating students are required to attend all the workshop sessions listed in order to qualify for the $1,000 prize money.
