Courses offered by the Higher Education Consortium of Central Massachusetts (HECCMA) Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) program are an excellent professional development opportunity for faculty and for WPI graduate students who are considering a career in academia and those who have TA appointments. All courses carry Worcester State University graduate credit and may be taken individually or toward completion of the six-credit Certificate. More information about the CCT program can be found on the program website.

Three course offerings for the fall semester have been announced; course descriptions and schedule details can be found here. Tuition for Certificate courses is $265/credit for participants from WPI; in addition, there is a $200/semester pre-enrollment fee. Tuition and fee must be paid at the time of registration. WPI graduate students are eligible to receive tuition assistance from the Class of '57 Excellence in Teaching Fund but must apply for this assistance before registering for a course. Procedures and the application form for tuition assistance can be found on the website of the Morgan Teaching and Learning Center. Faculty may be eligible for tuition assistance as an employee benefit; please consult HR.

IMPORTANT: Tuition assistance funds for graduate students are limited. In order to receive priority consideration, applications should be submitted to morgan-center@wpi.edu by August 10. Funding decisions will be made soon thereafter. If funds remain, applications will then be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have additional questions after reviewing the HECCMA website and after reviewing the WPI tuition assistance procedures, please contact Professor Chrys Demetry (morgan-center@wpi.edu).
