Neurodivergent students in STEM fields often face unique and compounding challenges that can impact their academic success and overall well-being. These challenges include heightened anxiety, difficulties with focus and attention, navigating competitive academic environments, negative group work experiences, and struggles with social cues, self-perception, and course engagement. While these issues are particularly pronounced for neurodivergent learners, they also reflect broader mental health trends among Gen Z students, especially first-year and first-generation college students in STEM disciplines.
In this session, following a fishbowl panel format, we’ll hear from our neurodivergent students so that we all can better understand who our students are and gain insights on how we can move forward to co-create inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive.
Please register by Thursday, November 26th, so we can finalize the headcount for lunch.
