On-Going PLTW Professional Development for Massachusetts PLTW teachers

WPI recognizes the critical need for providing support to Project Lead The Way teachers throughout the school year. In the first year of development and delivery, these free sessions are being created to help teachers with the following courses:

  • Launch
  • Design and Modeling
  • Automation and Robotics
  • Computer Science for Innovators and Makers (limited sessions)
  • Introduction to Engineering Design
  • Principles of Engineering
  • Digital Electronics
  • Computer Science Principles (limited sessions)
  • Engineering Design and Development

The professional development is being provided in a variety of formats, with the intent being to meet as many of the needs of teachers as possible. The session formats vary from

  • In-person observations with discussion and reflection on implementation plans that can be taken away and used in the participant’s school
  • Virtual Sessions that provide the opportunity for a rich dialog and sharing of ideas without having to travel to a designated meeting location
  • Full day professional development, covering a variety of topics for current PLTW teachers
