George C. Gordon Library

The Gordon Library will be sponsoring three different on-campus IQPs for the upcoming academic year. Brief descriptions of the projects, along with who to contact if you have any questions, are available below:

  1. Plagiarism: Why it happens and what we can do about it. For this project, students will explore plagiarism as it exists in the research world and at WPI, and examine potential ways of addressing the issue of plagiarism on campus. For more information, go to this page or email project advisors Danielle Cote and Ryan Madan. (A, B, and C terms)
  2. "Unbuilt WPI" - On-Line Exhibitions about WPI Campus Buildings and Plans. Building off of a previous IQP, students will use the WPI Archives and its Web platform to create a larger, on-line version of a historical display featuring campus buildings that were never built or were built differently than proposed. For more information, go to this page or email project advisor M. David Samson. (A, B, and C terms; can start in E 2018)
  3. Illustrations in Scientific American in the Nineteenth Century. Building off of previous project teams' work, and in collaboration with the American Antiquarian Society, students will improve upon a database of illustrations in nineteenth century American scientific magazines, checking the data, and preparing other documentation as necessary. For more information, go to this page or email project advisors M. David Samson and Steven Bullock. (A, B, and C terms; can start in E 2018)
