Massachusetts Life Sciences Center High School Apprenticeship Program seeks Faculty & Lab Managers

The Office of Pre-collegiate Outreach Programs is in the search of faculty and lab managers who would be interested in hosting one or more high school students from June 19 - August 2, 2019.  These students would he hired through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) High School Apprenticeship Program, which is a program that matches high school students with opportunities to promote technical knowledge and professional skills. MLSC pays the students $12 per hour, for a total reimbursement of up to $2,880 (240 hours) per intern (based on six weeks of full time work).  This is a great opportunity for both you and the students!

 

Our office will provide administrative support such a running a high school orientation, scheduling their lab safety training, setting up CORI checks, gathering liability forms, collecting emergency contact information, and paying the students.  The faculty/lab manager would be able to focus on the schedule and project. Projects topics vary and are up to the faculty/lab manger.  If you are interested, please contact us so that we work with lab safety and share student resumes for selection.
