Department(s):
Graduate & Professional StudiesThe following note was sent to all international students:
We are writing to you in response to the recent ICE policy guidance. As your deans, we want you to know that you are extremely valuable members of our WPI community. We are working to support your continued progress in your degree programs and your experience at WPI, and are in the process of developing plans to address the different scenarios that our international students face with the new ICE policy.
As you might have seen, President Laurie Leshin released a statement on Wednesday affirming the university’s commitment to supporting and protecting our international students, and we echo her sentiments. WPI is working diligently and with other universities across the nation to find solutions for all our affected students given the ICE policy guidance.
The International House has been in communication with our international student population and will continue to provide updates on the evolving situation. If you have questions regarding the ICE policy guidance, the International House has created a link through which they are collecting questions to help WPI best understand and address the specific needs of our own student population and provide information and answers. Ask your questions here: http://wpi.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0jPZCeXNDb7hiRf.
As the situation evolves, please know that, as always, we will advocate for our international community members and communicate information as we gain more clarity.
Best,
Art Heinricher
