The Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Multicultural Education invites you to celebrate our graduates during the Lavender Commencement Ceremony!

Lavender Commencement is a celebration that recognizes LGBTQIAP+ students of all races and ethnicities and acknowledges their achievements and contributions to WPI as students who survived the college experience. Lavender is important to LGBTQ history.  It is a combination of the pink triangle that gay men were forced to wear in concentration camps and the black triangle designating lesbians as political prisoners in Nazi Germany.  The LGBTQ civil rights movement took these symbols of hatred and combined them to make symbols and color of pride and community.

Our celebration will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET in Innovation Studio 203/205. This celebration will include a complimentary meal, speakers, notes of recognition, and the presentation of the Undergraduate and Graduate Student of Distinction Awards.

Please RSVP by Monday, April 8, 2024 at 12:00pm ET to receive your formal invitation and graduation materials!

If you aren't able to attend but would still like to nominate a graduate for one of the Student of Distinction Awards, please fill out the RSVP form as there is a section in it for nominations.
