This message was sent to employees September 10, 2021

In spring of 2019, WPI began laying the groundwork for our next strategic plan, Lead with Purpose.  There was deep engagement across the community at that time, in the form of community feedback sessions, a 120+ attendee Board plenary, and a survey regarding our mission. Major themes emerged from this work, focusing on our students, the academic and research enterprises, and our community. In spring of 2020, we put the planning on hold as we attended to needs related to COVID-19.

Fall 2020 brought us back together, and we resumed our planning with a Working Group comprised of more than 100 members, where faculty governance, all schools, and all divisions were represented.   And, we conducted several Town Hall meetings, departmental feedback sessions, and outreach for volunteers.

Later today, you will receive an email once again requesting your feedback on the strategic plan.   The document you will read is the outcome of these months of work and captures the inputs from all stakeholder groups. Thank you for adding your voice in this moment as we work to take the plan into implementation. We will be taking your input in this manner for the next 30 days (closing October 10), and will anonymize all feedback and review only in the aggregate.  Students will be surveyed next week.

Thank you in advance for your participation.
