Subaiou Zhang, WPI Alumna (’10), will be the featured violin soloist with the Wellesley Symphony on the 16th of October. Following that appearance she will be traveling to the Ukraine to participate in the ‘Il Oleh Krysa International Violin Competition’.

Subaiou Zhang, WPI alumna class of 2010, is a former member and  concertmaster of the WPI Orchestra  and  former member of the Medwin Honors Quartet.  While studying at WPI she was very active in the music program.  In addition to completing a Minor in Music she performed the well known ‘Butterfly Concerto’ with the WPI Orchestra.   She worked for a year in the sciences and has since gone back to school for music and is currently completing her  DMA in violin performance at Boston Uiviersity.  Already beginning to acquire a reputation as an outstanding violinist,  she will be appearing as guest soloist with the Wellesley Orchestra on the 16th of October and then heading off to the Ukraine to participate in  the ‘Il Oleh Krysa International Violin Competition’.  Subaiou also performs frequently with the Loki String Quartet based in Boston.
