The Teacher Preparation Program (TPP) was proud to welcome 7 new teacher candidates to our program at a welcome session and induction ceremony held on January 19. We welcomed (top row) CS major Christian Rua, Robotics major Lucas Dion, CS major Wilson Gramer, Physics major Jake Maglio, (bottom row) CS major Dylan Shanes, CS/IMGD major Andrew Simonini, and Actuarial Mathematics major Samantha Simmons. The students participated in team-building exercises, dined on pizza, and celebrated their acceptance into the program with a candle ceremony and special cake.

During the candle ceremony, faculty and staff of the STEM Education Center, along with upperclassmen in the pipeline to teaching, spoke about the importance of sparking the flame of curiosity and fanning the flames of STEM education as teachers.
