This event features a screening of the documentary Some Bright Morning: The Art of Melvin Edwards (2016). The documentary will be followed by a discussion with the artist, moderated by Dr. Mahamadou Sagna, Director of Africana Studies and Assoc. Prof. in the department of Social Science and Policy Studies.

Melvin Edwards is a pioneer in the history of contemporary African American art and sculpture.
