WPI Poets: Featuring Alumnus Gerald Yelle

We are excited to welcome our first poetry reading by a WPI alum, Gerald Yelle. Yelle's books include The Holyoke Diaries (Future Cycle, 2014), Dreaming Alone and with Others (Future Cycle, 2023), the bored and Evolution for the Hell of It (Alien Buddha, 2025). His chapbooks include No Place I Would Rather Be (Finishing Line, 2021) and A Box of Rooms (Bottlecap, 2022). Yelle will be reading from his work in the Gordon Library Conference Room (Room 303). The event will begin with a few readings from current WPI students. There will also be time for conversation with our poets about their experiences and practices.
From Yelle's publisher's biographical statement,
"Gerald Yelle received his MFA from the University of Massachusetts. He has published poetry and flash fiction in numerous online and print journals in addition to four books: The Holyoke Diaries, Future Cycle Press (2014), Evolution For The Hell Of It, Red Dashboard LLC (2015), Mark My Word and the New World Order, Pedestrian Press (2016), and Restaurant in Walking Distance and Everything, Cawing Crow Press (2016). An e-chapbook, “Industries Built on Words,” was published by Yavanika Press in 2020. He has done restaurant work, factory work, office work and public school teaching. He is a member of the Florence, Massachusetts Poets Society and lives in Amherst, Massachusetts."
