What

Worcester Polytechnic Institute's (WPI) Computer Science Department will host the second annual High School Programming Contest. Twelve public and private schools in Massachusetts will send their best student computer programmers (with their advisors) to compete in the contest, which challenges students to work against the clock to solve a variety of computational problems. Students submit solutions written in programming languages such as C, C++, or Java. The contest is supported by an on-line submission system that allows participants to view the ongoing results of the competition in real-time.

The top three teams win prizes. In 2006, the top three teams were, in order, Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science, Westborough High School, and Doherty Memorial High School.
