This intergenerational event will highlight and celebrate the importance of collaboration among all genders in STEM while providing students in grades 7-10 and their adult champions with opportunities to explore how STEM impacts the world around them.
Together, students and their adult champions (parents, guardians, caregivers, mentors, aunts, uncles, other supportive adult) will participate in two engaging, hands-on workshops inspired by the research and expertise of WPI faculty and graduate students. Participants will then enjoy lunch while connecting with new before continuing their exploration at a STEM Expo featuring WPI student clubs and organizations. Through interactive exhibits and activities, attendees will discover the many ways STEM drives innovation and impacts our everyday lives.
Middle school STEM Experience offers opportunities for students to explore different topics in STEM through a 15-minute presentation and 45-minute hands-on activity led by WPI Engineering Ambassadors. The Engineering Ambassadors will highlight a topic in STEM and provide enough detail in the presentation for the students to be successful in their hands-on activity—no prior experience related to the topic is required. Engineering Ambassadors are excited to share their enthusiasm for STEM with your students! To request a date for a session or to have someone in our office contact you to discuss this opportunity further, please fill out this request form.
